Online video marketing is growing increasingly popular among the internet marketing community.
Virtually any internet marketer worth his salt is actively engaged in promoting his products and services via video.
Incredibly, less than 5% of traditional businesses are using video in any type of promotion at all – and when they do, they usually are doing it wrong, modeling it after traditional commercials rather than reality TV which is what the internet is about.
The internet is no different than your home.
Do you run to the TV when a commercial comes on or do you run the opposite direction to the fridge or a bathroom break?
It amazes me that the Madison Avenue types, who charge a minimum of $50,000 for a simple video haven’t figured this out yet, and they wonder why nobody wants to watch their videos.
The Madison Avenue morons are more interested in winning advertising awards from elitest advertising award presenters than servicing their clients. Madison Avenue is a racket, if you haven’t figured that out yet.
When you use video online, people want to hear from real people just like you.
They want to hear truthful reasons to be doing business with you.
Here are some of the most powerful ways video can be used.
- Be sure and make it real – the more real the better. Talk to people from the heart, tell them about why your service or product will address a solution to their problem in a non-salesy way.
- One of the most emotionally powerful ways to use video is using them for testimonials from actual customers or clients. This is called Social Proof and it’s a whizz bang way to excite your audience. The only thing your potential customers value more than you telling them about your business, is hearing a customer or client tell them how good your business is. Video testimonials are proof positive that your business is a leader just as you claim. To Follow up your video presentation with video testimonials is killer, and a powerful 1-2 punch to your website visitor.
- When utilizing video, upload your videos to at least 30 video directories. This is where you gain audience and thus traffic to your site. Make your video in 2 parts. The first part goes into the video directories, they have to visit your site to hear the rest. Make your video interesting and invoke curiousity with your viewer. Remember, it is your goal to have them visit your site – give them the right bait to make them click on your link. If they don’t visit your site you’ve gained nothing. Leave them wanting more, and watch the traffic swarm begin.
- Always be sure to put your website URL at the end of your video for a minimum of 20 seconds…brand your video with your link.
- Hire models for your video shoot – sex sells and it always has. Be creative and think out of the box – a great looking sexy model in a cleverly shot video will get you more traffic than a 50 year old CEO any and everyday.
If you aren’t using video marketing in your business, you are missing the boat and the chance to put yourself light years ahead of your competition. Video accounted for over 50% of the content online last year yet only 5% of businesses are using it – this is a window of opportunity to put yourself miles ahead of your competition – take it and run by using video marketing.
