Video and video marketing are just a couple of the hottest new buzz words in the internet marketing world.

Want to create videos that will rock the world of your viewers?

Follow these dynamite video creation tips.

  1. Use good lighting and backgrounds. You want your background clear and do be careful of the lighting. Most lighting is yellow and makes you look orange.  Here’s a handy tip – cover the lights with blue gel paper. It’s kind of like cellophane and you can buy it any craft store for cheap.   Just put the blue cellophane over your lighting and it works just as well as an expensive professional filter. The blue takes the yellow out of the lighting so your skin tones will appear natural – and not leave you looking like someone rolled you in Cheeto dust.
  2. Talk to the camera – just like it’s a real person. It may take you a while to get over any shyness you have, but it will come with practice. Speak from your heart, just like talking to a friend in a bar, church, or sports event. Be NATURAL, don’t try and be an actor – just be you.
  3. Speak confidently – people can read you on video very easily. If you aren’t sincere, they will know it. If you aren’t confident, then you aren’t the authority figure that people will follow as a leader.
  4. Do not put your website URL at the beginning of the video – place it at the end. If at the beginning, it immediately tells people it is some type of sales message, by placing it at the end you have the opportunity to engage people and keep them watching your message. Put your website URL at the end of the video with your…
  5. Strong call to action. Tell people what you want them to do next. Should they call you, click a link for free information, etc. Tell people what action you want them to carry out.
  6. Use music if it’s not a “talking head” video. In other words, if your video is only made from powerpoint slides, graphics and still photos…music will set the mood. Use good upbeat music – not something to put people asleep or remind them of Grandma.
  7. Keep your message short. People are not going to watch an infomercial. Unless it’s an educational video, try and keep your message to under 3 minutes, shorter if possible.  Remember, some of the most powerful commercials ever made have been 30 seconds in length.  It is your desire to attract people with a short powerful message and have them take action from there.  Statistics show that only 46% of viewers will watch video longer than one minute, 36% will watch for 2 minutes and only 17% will hang around long enough to watch for 3 minutes. Split your message into shorter videos if you need to – break it into sections.

Use these tips for successful video marketing and watch your views and your visitors soar.
